Recipe: Chicken Salad

Chicken Salad: Basic Ingredients Combined to Make Big Flavors.

When you search for “chicken salad recipes,” you'll find countless pages of versions and flavor combinations to explore.

I love seeing all the creative flavor combos that people come up with. I have experimented making several different versions myself.

However, this particular recipe is my favorite go-to when I'm craving a classic chicken salad.

I hope you love it too!

Ingredients

  • Chicken

  • Hard Boiled Eggs

  • Apples

  • Seedless Grapes

  • Celery

  • Onion (I usually use red or green)

  • Mayo

  • Mustard (regular, brown, spicy - whatever you’re craving!)

  • Dill (fresh or dried)

  • Parsley (fresh or dried)

  • Salt & Pepper

*When it comes to chicken salad - there is no right or wrong amount of ingredients to add! As I’m writing this recipe, I am realizing that I don’t think I have ever measured any ingredients when making chicken salad! That’s what makes it so magical, haha! I just add as much or as little of each ingredient as I want. If you make yours the same way - let’s be friends!! :)

  1. Cook the chicken.

  2. Wash and chop veggies, fruit, and fresh herbs.

  3. Add chicken, fruit, veggies, and herbs to a bowl.

  4. Add mayo, mustard, and spices.

  5. Stir until well combined.

Ideas for Serving

Dip: Add it to a bowl and enjoy as a dip with chips and crackers.

Sandwich: Make it into a sandwich on your favorite bread. I love to eat mine on toast with a slice of cheese!

Pinwheels: Serve it as an appetizer by spreading it on a tortilla, then rolling it up and slicing it into pinwheels.

Salad: Enjoy it as a chicken salad salad (not a typo!). Add a scoop to a bowl of spinach, iceberg, or romaine lettuce.

Croissant: Make it fancy by eating it on a soft and flaky croissant. This is how my mom always serves it and it’s delicious!

If you decide to make this delicious recipe, please let me know. I’d love to hear about it!

Happy Eating!
