Let Me Introduce Myself
I’m Mallory
A few years ago, I caught the gardening bug and dove into the world of flowers. I started with one small raised garden bed, but every growing season, I added more flowers around our property: in flower pots, window boxes, three more raised garden beds, landscaping projects—you name it, I tried it!
Knowing I had become a plant lover, my sister—queen of unique gifts—surprised me with a pressed cactus necklace. I loved it and wore it almost every day. When I was shopping for a similar necklace to add to my collection, I became fascinated by the art of creating these little floral masterpieces. The more I researched the more I became interested in creating some of my own!
After experimenting and plenty of trial and error, I created several pressed flower necklaces, packaged them up, and displayed them at a local craft show. To my delight, I nearly sold out! The positive feedback from happy customers was really encouraging, and I couldn’t wait to go home and create more.
To help boost my flower supply, my husband and I designed and built a custom greenhouse in our backyard. Now, I use some of my own flowers to create necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and rings (visit my gallery to see a sample of my creations and little more about process). I have even added handmade flower presses to the inventory. I happily still attend that same local craft show every year, and now my items are also available year-round at four retail locations.
Despite having years of experience, I still consider myself a novice gardener, simply practicing and playing around with plants and seeds. I garden, maintain a greenhouse, and care for numerous houseplants because it brings me joy. My day job involves sitting at a desk inside an office, so having a garden that invites me outside and a space to be creative with pressed flowers is an opportunity I eagerly embrace when I’m off the clock. Head over to my blog to learn more about activities I love - like cooking and outdoor DIY projects that anyone can do!
Gardening and plant nurturing isn’t for everyone, but if you’re even a little interested in gardening (or any hobby that brings you joy!) give it a try—it might bloom into a passion and a business, just as it has for me!
P.S. Thank you so much for being here :)
